Vietnam has emerged as one of the leading cycling
destinations in Asia in recent years, with some
excellent coastal stretches along National Highway
1 and some fine cruising through the pancake flat
Mekong Delta. For those that like more of a challenge,
there is the option of taking on the mountains
of the centre or the north. Hanuman Tourism has a range
of specialised cycling itineraries, all with support
vehicles and experienced guides. Tours range from
just a few days around the Mekong Delta to a three-week
extravaganza from Hanoi to Saigon. The bicycle
remains the most popular form of transport in
rural Vietnam and the children love to race with
