DAY
1: Bangkok to Koh Kong
We travel by road from Bangkok to Trat for
a last lunch in Thailand before heading
into Cambodia for an extended tour. We cross
the border and spend one night in the frontier
town of Koh Kong.
DAY
2: Koh Kong to Sihanoukville
We travel by express boat from Koh Kong
to Sihanoukville, along the rugged, beautiful
coastline of Cambodia. We leave the afternoon
free for relaxing on the beach.
DAY
3: The Paradise Island of Koh Rong
We take a boat trip to the islands off the
coast of Sihanoukville, home to some beautiful
beaches and surrounded by crystal clear
waters. We have a fresh seafood lunch out
on Koh Rong.
DAY
4: Sihanoukville to Bokor and Kampot
We journey by road from Sihanoukville to
the riverside town of Kampot, visiting the
abandoned hill station of Bokor along the
way, where we enjoy a picnic lunch. We take
a sunset boat trip on the river.
DAY
5: Kampot to Phnom Penh
We travel north from Kampot towards Phnom
Penh, stopping to visit the pre-Angkorian
remains at Angkor Borei and Phnom Da.
After a scenic boat trip, we stop at the
temples of Phnom Chisor and Tonle Bati
on the way into Phnom Penh.
DAY
6: Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
We travel by express boat up the Tonle Sap to
Siem Reap, gateway to the temples of Angkor. After
lunch in town, we visit the highlights of the
grand circuit, including Neak Poan, Eastern Mebon,
Pre Rup and Preah Khan. We watch sunset over Angkor
Wat.
DAY
7: Banteay Srei and the Small Circuit
Early morning visit to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise,
before visiting the elegant temple of Banteay Srei
and Banteay Samre. After lunch, we visit the highlights
of the petit circuit, including Prasat Kravan, Sras
Srang, Banteay Kdei, Takeo and jungle-clad Ta Prohm.
DAY
8: The Walled City of Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat
We visit the sites of Angkor Thom, including Victory
Gate, the Bayon, Baphuon and the Terrace of the
Elephants. After lunch, we visit magnificent Angkor
Wat to view its architecture and bas reliefs.
DAY
9: Tonle Sap and Phnom Penh
We travel to Phnom Krom for a cruise on
the Tonle Sap, visiting floating villages.
After lunch in town, we visit Artisans d’Angkor
and the Western Baray. We fly to Phnom Penh
and visit the city's popular markets for
a spot of shopping.
DAY
10: The Highlights of Phnom Penh
In the morning, we visit the Royal Palace
and Silver Pagoda and the National Museum.
Later we visit the genocide museum of Tuol
Sleng and the Killing Fields. Dinner and
overnight in Phnom Penh.
DAY
11: Phnom Penh to Chau Doc
We take a boat to the Cambodia-Vietnam border
We continue to the Mekong Delta town of
Chau Doc. In the afternoon we visit the
holy Sam Mountain.
DAY
12: Chau Doc to Cantho
We take a boat to a Muslim Cham village on a nearby
island. We also visit some local temples before
departing for Cantho. Dinner and overnight in Cantho.
DAY
13: Cantho to Saigon
This morning we rise early to visit the Cai Rang
Floating Market. We continue towards Saigon after
lunch in the delta town of Mytho.
DAY
14: Sightseeing in Saigon
We enjoy a full city tour, including Notre dame
Cathedral, Reunification Palace, the War Remnants
Museum, and some of the lively markets. Tour ends
in Saigon.
