Indochina is one of the last secrets of Asia, a delicate flower unfurling its exquisite petals to the world after many years of hibernation. Our range of Indochina Classics combines the best of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in one trip, allowing the visitor time to take in each country and culture.

We offer a range of programmes to suit every traveller, from a brief 10-day tour of the World Heritiage highlights of Luang Prabang, Hue and the temples of Angkor, to a 22-day adventure taking in the capitals, the culture and the nature in real depth, a selection of the best destinations of the region. In the following Indochina Classics section of the brochure, we offer a small selection of our most popular tours to Indochina. This is just a taster of what we have to offer and can arrange tours of any length and combination of destinations to suit your needs. Tours can be run in either direction, but we like to recommend beginning in Laos and saving the incredible temples of Angkor to savour until last, as nothing can match their splendour. We also like to encourage tailor-mades where you choose the cut with our advice. It is easy enough to put together your own itinerary for Indochina by combining our shorter tours from each country section in this brochure.

Combining Cambodia and Vietnam has never been easier with a huge increase in flights between Saigon and Siem Reap and regular services to Phnom Penh as well. Moreover, there is now the additional land crossing down in the Mekong Delta near Chau Doc, which allows visitors to link up these two countries via the beautiful Mekong River.

Hanuman offers several teasing itineraries in our Cambodia and Vietnam section, including a short three-day link between Phnom Penh and Saigon via Chau Doc, Cantho and the Mekong Delta.
Cambodia also shares several land borders with Thailand in the west, offering the enticing possibility of overlands between Bangkok and Saigon, including Cambodian highlights such as Phnom Penh and Angkor.

Hanuman promotes a range of overland tours in either direction, using the Mekong Delta border with Vietnam and either the Poipet or Koh Kong borders with Thailand. The following tours are just a sample of the many routes we have conjured up and we can bolt on other destinations in either Vietnam or Thailand, such as Mui Ne Beach, Koh Chang or the Khmer temples in Thailand

Linking Laos and Cambodia has become so much easier in the past couple of years with the inauguration of direct flights between Siem Reap and Vientiane and the opening of a new full international land border crossing between Stung Treng (Cambodia) and Champasak (Laos) provinces.

Hanuman introduces the adventurous new option of travelling between Laos and Cambodia via the mighty Mekong River. Setting out from either Phnom Penh or the southern Lao city of Pakse, we include the pleasant riverside town of Kompong Cham, the shy, rare river dolphins at Kratie, the frontier town of Stung Treng, the idyllic islands of Si Phan Don on the Mekong and the stunning mountain temple of Wat Phu.

For those that want something a bit more substantial, combining the best of both Laos and Cambodia, we offer a 14-day programme setting out from Vientiane and Luang Prabang before passing down through the Mekong border to Phnom Penh. We end our tour at the temples of Angkor, the most magnificent sight in all of Indochina. We can also tailor itineraries to include such options as heading east from Stung Treng to the isolated wilds of Ratanakiri province.
