DAY 1: Phnom Penh Highlights
We visit the splendid Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, as well as the National Museum. After lunch we visit Wat Phnom, symbol of the city, before heading to the city’s lively markets for shopping or browsing.

DAY 2: Phnom Penh to Battambang
Today, we drive to Battambang where we visit the sacred mountain pagoda of Phnom Sampeau. We also visit Wat Banan, a hilltop temple dating from the Angkor period. We return to Battambang for dinner and overnight.

 
DAY 3: Battambang to Siem Reap
We take a speedboat along the Sangker River and into the Tonle Sap Lake. From Phnom Krom, we transfer to Siem Reap. After lunch, we visit the earliest temples of the Angkor period at Roluos, including Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei for a useful chronological perspective on Angkor’s development.
 
DAY 4: Ta Prohm and the Small Circuit
We visit Prasat Kravan, Bat Chum, Eastern Mebon and Pre Rup. After lunch, we visit jungle-clad Ta Prohm, Banteay Kdei and Sras Srang. We watch sunset over Angkor Wat from the summit of Phnom Bakheng.
 

DAY 5: Banteay Srei and Kbal Spean
We head out early to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise, before continuing north to visit the elegant temple of Banteay Srei and the riverbed carvings of Kbal Spean. After lunch at Banteay Srei, we visit restored Banteay Samre and Phnom Bok.

 

DAY 6: Angkor Wat and the Grand Circuit
We visit delicate Neak Poan, Ta Som and the huge corridors of Preah Khan. After lunch, we visit magnificent Angkor Wat to admire its architecture and bas reliefs.
 
DAY 7: Angkor Thom and Western Baray
We make for the walled city of Angkor Thom, marvelling at highlights such as the Victory Gate, the enigmatic faces of the Bayon, Baphuon, Phimean Akas, Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. After lunch, we visit Les Artisans D’Angkor, a workshop to redevelop traditional Cambodian artisan skills and the vast manmade reservoir, the Western Baray. Later we transfer to airport to connect with an onward flight.
